Double Cup Final Joy for Youth Academy
The success of the Winchester City Academy, sponsored by Dessports, has been continued, and both the U18s and U16s have Cup Finals to look forward to later in the season, both sides having reached the finals of their respective League Cups.
Club chairman, Derek Caws, said "Our Academy sides have a great record of winning things, and we are delighted that both teams are fighting to fill our trophy cabinet again this year. The Youth Academy is a vital part of our plans to develop the football club. We are pleased to see the lads winning things, but it's also great to see so many young players competing for places in the Reserves and First Team. This can only be a good thing for the future of the football club. As a club, we are committed to developing our youth players and giving them their chance to compete in the senior teams - and beyond. Look at Chris Flood, who played for our U18s and First Team last season, and has now earned himself a professional contract at Brentford FC."
We hope that as many of our supporters as possible will turn up to support our Academy Teams. Congratulations to the managers and players of both sides and good luck in the finals.
