Friendly Match V Swindon Town Centre of Excellence.
City used this fixture as a learning curve and an opportunity of development against a Swindon Town outfit that brought a squad of players to this fixture that were all under contract and contained no trialists.
Swindon started much brighter and looked a class apart from City who struggled to cope with the pace and technique of the opposition, and conceded 3 quick within the first quarter of the game which shook the home side.
Although City did try to get the ball down and play the whole shape of the team looked out of sorts.
Swindon made it 4-0 just before the break with a stunning free kick from 20 yards
City changed some personnel and the formation at half time and reverted to 3-5-2 and finally got to grips with the opposition and played their best football. City pulled two goals back through Chris Hooper & James Austin after excellent work on both occasions by Carl Williams.
Although the home side conceded a further goal, City was pleased to run out 2-1 winners of the second period.
All of the squad enjoyed the experience and confirmed that a lot of positives had come from playing a quality opposition.
