- AFC Totton win the Cup despite Winchester taking an early lead and it's difficult not to feel disappointed but all in all it's been a successful season.

Another 10.00 AM start, another rainy morning but this time it's Winchester who make all the early running and with only 8 minutes gone an excellent pass by Ace finds Jamie on the edge of the box and his lob beats the keeper to put Winchester 1 - 0 ahead.
Winchester continue to play some great football with Mitch dominant in the air and Karl, Ty and Danny K looking totally in control at the back and with Jack and Jamie running tirelessly upfront Winchester continue to look dangerous. Another great Winchester move down the right sees the ball put out for a corner and a fine save from Karl's header drops to Steve but he blasts his shot over the bar. Could this be the turning point? Slowly Totton start to dictate the midfield. Danny L back in after several weeks out injured doesn't look match fit and Ace, Steve and Ben S are finding it diifficult to maintain the tempo.
Underpressure from a fast improving Totton side the Winchester management reverted to a 4 - 5 - 1 formation to try to regain the initiative but again this simply invites Totton to throw even more into attack and Sam is forced into a number of fine saves to keep the score 1 - 0. Winchester try to counter attack but Totton break through again and this time hit the side netting. In the next move Mitch is injured and Karl has to clear the lines but the ball keeps coming straight back because although Jack continues to work hard he can't relieve the pressure on his own however he does win a free kick which Steve blasts over in the last action of the first half.
The second half starts as the first finished. Totton press, Winchester clear (by-passing the midfield) and Totton come straight back for more. With 10 minutes of the half gone Ben S makes way for Zak and he's straight into the action combining well with Danny K, and Steve to whip in a cross from which Danny L brings a good save out of the keeper.
Totton need something different and in a change of style go direct and a long clearance splits open the Winchester defence and the Totton striker tucks the ball under Sam to make it 1 - 1. Totton press again and Danny K is left 1 on 1 but once again manages to tidy up the situation and set up another Winchester attack. Jamie's mazie run across the pitch releases Jack but his shot only finds the side netting. Totton finally find space on the left and a looping ball causes confusion in the centre of the Winchester defence and somehow ends up in the net to put Totton 2 - 1 up. Not a goal deserving of winning a Cup Tie but they all count.
Winchester make a number of changes (Danny L, Ty, Steve off David, Jamie B and Tom on) to try to get back into the game but its all too little too late although it could have been so different when a deflected shot from David finds Jamie in the box and his shot forces a magnificent save out of the Totton Keeper. With seconds remaining Sam comes up for a Winchester corner only to have to make a 60 yard dash and fantastic sliding tackle to stop Totton scoring again but at 2 - 1 Totton still get their hands on the Cup!
Congratulations to Winchester U16's - Players and management.
Finishing 3rd in Division 1 and making the Cup finals is a great achievement
