Winchester City 13 - 0 Phoenix
After the tryouts, training sessions and friendly’s, Winchester City U16 finally started their first competitive match of the season, a cup match against Phoenix. The lads battled for every minute of the ninety on Sunday, against a side who refused to let their heads drop even though they were being pounded out of sight.
The goals came thick and fast for Winchester City once Jack scored the opener. The clinical finishing of Jamie netted him four goals during the afternoon, and goals from Ben, David, Josh, and an own goal made it 8 but it was "The Jack" who capitalised on the most opportunities scoring a further four and continuing his run of scoring in every match this season. That's 9 so far...
Final Score: 13 - 0 but it could have been many more!
NOTE to fans:
The match against Eastleigh has been postponed due to unforeseeable circumstances, but it is now due to be played on Thursday 27th September at the Denplan Ground, so Winchester City’s next match is Away to Broadway Youth on the 23rd September, kick off at 2. 00
