  • AFC Totton win the Cup despite Winchester taking an early lead and it's difficult not to feel disappointed but all in all it's been a successful season.

Winchester City 4 - 0 Broadway Youth

Kinghtwood, Chandlers Ford. A warm sunny morning in September. It has to be Football... Unfortunately no one told the groundsman the season had started! It could have been worse we could have been playing on artifical turf!!

With a full squad available for selection Winchester City were determined to put on a good show and it didn't take long to get used to the conditions and an over zealous referee. A physical Broadway team could not cope with the speed and ability of the Winchester team and by half time were already trailing 2 - 0 through goals by Ben and Danny, but the half was marred by a confrontation with the referee (following the shepherding out of the ball by "Webby") which led to the first booking of the season - a touch harsh!

The second half continued in the same vane with Winchester applying pressure from the start and soon capitalising on a defensive mistake to claim a third goal from Dan and a fourth goal soon after put the game beyond doubt. To their credit Broadway continued trying to the end but Winchester ran out comfortable winners.

Next match at home to Eastleigh Youth. See you there...
