Another home game and another "home" pitch! This time wide lane plays host to the Winchester U16s.

Playing on a far better pitch than last week it takes Winchester about 10 minutes to get used to the size and the surface and to start playing the type of football we have come to expect. A clever through ball from Ben F finds Ben U in the box who lays the ball off for Jack to run onto and slot home but as Jack celebrates the goal is ruled offside! Amazing!

Winchester press forward again and Steve's shot is tipped round the post. Whitecroft clear the corner but Karl's crunching tackle releases Danny L who finds Zak down the left. He beats two players and his cross is met firmly by Ben U at the near post but the keeper tips over the bar but from the resulting corner Ben U rises at the far post to make it 1 - 0. Within a couple of minutes it was 2 - 0 when Mitch finds Jamie on the right and his pass slices open the defence to find Jack who slots the ball under the advancing keeper. "The Jack's Back!" and just to emphasise the point Jack makes it 3, five minutes later. Ace on for Danny L and Winchester well on top at half time.

Ty on for Ben F and Whitecroft start the second half attacking Ty down the right. Sam gathers a great catch under pressure from 3 attackers and releases Zak with a quick throw. Zak hits a long cross field ball to find Jamie who beats the defender and crashes his shot against the keeper for a corner. Zak off for David. Jamie whips in the corner and Karl heads home at the near post for 4 - 0.         

Winchester continued to dominate. Ace switches play to Danny K on the left who finds David who drives into the box and rolls the ball back to Steve to make it 5 - 0. Winchester were now afforded the luxury to switch players as they wished and the management took the opportunity to try new things like taking Ben U and Jack off and playing Zak and Jamie upfront and Steve at left back! but everything they try seems to pay off! Danny L wins a tackle in midfield finds Jamie on the right his first touch finds Zak who lays the ball back to Danny L following up to crash home number 6.

Ben F was having an excellent day and a quick throw found Jamie who lobbed the keeper for 7 and another run down the right and cross saw Jamie head just wide. It should have been double figures - Zak laid the ball back to Danny L who's shot almost hit the corner flag and then Zak missed from a corner when it would have been easier to score! It was all Winchester but with just minutes left Ty had to leave the field injured. Ace swings in the free kick and its headed behind for a corner and from Zak's cross Karl rises high to get his second goal of the game and Winchester's eighth.

8 - 0 Great win and a great performance by the whole team.
